On March 14, 2013, personal robbery 1801 S. Grand.

On 3-14-13, at 5:29 AM, officers were sent to 1801 S. Grand on a reported personal robbery on the parking lot of the Toot ‘n Totum store.  The victim, a WM residing in Amarillo, reported that he was on the parking lot when he was robbed and his vehicle taken.  He was putting air in the tire of his white 2009 Chevrolet pickup when a man approached him and asked to borrow a cigarette lighter.  When the suspect handed the victim the lighter back, he told the victim to give him the keys to his car and his wallet.  The victim was surprised and not certain that he understood, and asked the man what he said.  The suspect produced a handgun and repeated his demand.  The victim told the man that his wallet was in the truck, and then ran to the store to report the robbery.  The suspect left, driving eastbound on the access road of IH40 in the stolen pickup.   The suspect was a Hispanic male about 5 ft. 9 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds.  He had a shaved head, and was wearing a white shirt and khaki pants.  He had tattoos on both arms.   The suspect description appears to be the same as that of a man involved in the robbery of the Toot ‘n Totum store about 20 minutes before this incident.  At the time of this release, officers are still looking for the 2009 pickup with Texas tags.  The victim was not injured and there have been no arrests.  If you have any information on this or the earlier robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
