Man charged in Feb 4, 2013 liquor store robbery.

***UPDATE 3-5-2013***On 2-28-13, the Randall Co. District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of aggravated robbery against Steven Edward Boyd WM 28 of Amarillo for this robbery, cause #24242.  He was in custody at the Randall County jail on another robbery charge when this charge was filed.   

On 2-4-13, at 8:34 PM, officers were sent to Texas Liquors at 1900 SE 34th Avenue on an armed robbery.  The female employee reported that a white or Hispanic male about 5 ft. 5 to 5 ft. 7 inches tall, weighing 180-190 pounds entered the store.  He was wearing a black ski mask, black coat, black pants, and dark colored gloves.  He was holding a handgun when he entered.  He approached the counter and demanded the cash.  The employee took the money out of the register and put it on the counter.  The suspect picked up the money, left the business, and ran west from the store.  There were no injuries in this incident and there have been no arrests.  The amount taken has not been disclosed
