Fatal Collision on January 17, 2013, 3:57 PM, Dumas Hwy WFR and Willow Creek.

On January 17, 2013 at approximately 3:57 PM, officers were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of the Dumas Hwy West Frontal Road and Willow Creek Ave.  Upon their arrival they discovered a 1998 Ford F-350 Dutchman motor home had been southbound on the frontal road. It was driven by Anthony James Johnson, WM, 37 of Olympia, Washington.  The motor home had struck a 2006 GMC Canyon pickup truck traveling west on Willow Creek Ave.  The GMC was driven by Michael Lee McDaniels, WM, 57 of Amarillo.   Johnson disregarded a stop sign.  A passenger in the GMC died at the scene as a result of injuries from the crash.  She is identified as Shirley Leavitt-McDaniels, WF, 69 also of Amarillo.  Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn responded to the scene.  No autopsy was ordered.  The collision is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Dept.
