Updated Media release, 11-24-12 shooting at 600 ABW

At approximately 3: 30 AM, officers were notified of a shooting victim being transported by private conveyance from the area of ABW/Hughes to a local area hospital.   The victim was a black male, age 19.  It was later determined the victim was shot at Legend’s, located at 600 W. Amarillo Blvd.   Affidavits were taken at the club from the occupants present when officers arrived, or interviewed at the police department.  The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right forearm and right chest, and the injuries are life-threatening at the time of this release.  The victim was still being treated at the time of this writing.   The identity of the suspect is unknown, but the investigation is on-going.

***UPDATE 11-28-12, 10:25 AM***APD detectives have released the name of the victim in this case.  He is Tyus Aztec Crain, BM age 19 of Amarillo.  His injuries are no longer believed to be life-threatening and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.  There have been no charges filed.
